Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using MeetNote (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and MeetNote (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Description of service
MeetNote is a desktop and web application that records or accepts uploaded audio and video files, transcribes them, and generates AI-powered summaries and action items. The Service is provided on both a free tier and a paid Pro tier. Features, limits, and availability may change over time.
3. User accounts
Some features require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- +Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- +Notify us immediately at ethan@trymeetnote.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
- +Not share your account credentials with others.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Payment and refunds
The MeetNote Pro plan is available for $10 per month. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel.
- +Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- +Refunds. We offer a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription if you are not satisfied. After that period, charges are non-refundable except where required by law.
- +Price changes. We will notify you at least 30 days before any change in subscription pricing.
5. Prohibited uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- ×Record conversations without the consent of all participants where required by applicable law.
- ×Process, store, or transmit content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, or infringes any third-party rights.
- ×Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
- ×Use the Service to build a competing product or resell access without our written permission.
- ×Circumvent usage limits, access controls, or any security feature of the Service.
- ×Use automated means to access or scrape the Service beyond normal use.
6. Intellectual property
Our IP. MeetNote, its logo, software, and all related materials are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service.
Your content. You retain all ownership of the audio, video, transcripts, and other content you upload or generate through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.
7. Data and privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- —The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- —We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcripts and summaries will be accurate.
- —In no event will our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or $50 USD.
- —We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability exclusions. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Termination
By you. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to the Service or other users.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will do so.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or with a notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
